Made in Japan

Since the Paris shows are ending on Sunday, I'll post my personal summary of the fall collections on Monday. In the meantime I found this beautiful japanese illustrations, I love the way these artists blend their oriental aesthetic with a touch of retro and a somewhat ironic view on western culture.

Friday 29: Haquiles has sent me these two incredible illustrations by Tadahiro Uesugi, thank you my friend!

Future Zen master - Futuro maestro Zen

As you maybe realized, as soon as I publish a couple of posts about fashion I need to jump to something else. I have a joke with my friend Itzel Bunchen (I need to write a long post about her!) that in my old days I will be a Zen master, sitting under a japanese maple, it's fiery leaves falling around me, in front of a tea-house that of course would be very wabi-sabi.
In the meantime here is one of my modest haikus:

The wind is shaking
the boughs of the cherry tree.
It's snowing petals.

I think that precisely the japanese have such a pure sense of style because of Zen philosophy. Since I'm talking about Japan, a few things japanese or japan-related:

Lost in Translation

And as I promised Haquiles, a link to Hokusai's "36 views of Mount Fuji", if you click on each image and click again you get to a large image with very good resolution.
