YSL 08

A look at Stefano Pilati's spring 08 collection for Yves Saint Laurent and I'll stop talking about him for a little while, I promise... I chose some of my favorite looks, which are also maybe the least obvious.

This shiny trench reminds me somehow of the original YSL Catherine Deneuve wore in "Belle de Jour"

I am fascinated by this use of what seems to be classic sweatshirt fabric, I can't wait to go to the store and touch it!

I love the combination of this "Rive Gauche" shades of blue with grey and beige. It's so clean, apparently simple, yet at the same time so new.

Me encantan estos azules "Rive Gauche" combinados con gris y beige. Es tan limpio, aparentemente sencillo, y a la vez tan nuevo.

This is masterly technique of cut, the balance between fitted and fluid.

Esto es maestría en la técnica del corte, el equilibrio entre ajustado y fluido.

I also found this suble and somewhat ironic use of the YSL logo interesting.

También me pareció interesante este uso sutil y algo irónico del logotipo YSL.

Stars have always been a typical Yves Saint Laurent ornament, used here in a completely new way.

Las estrellas siempre han sido un adorno típico de Yves Saint Laurent, usadas aquí de un modo completamente nuevo.
