La Dolce Vita

Not Anita Ekberg in the Fontana di Trevi or Via Veneto, but the beautiful final scene.

Zen master says:
The wind is blowing,
it's taking the words away.
The gestures remain.

maestro Zen dice:
El viento sopla,
se lleva las palabras.
Los gestos quedan.

Springtime - Primavera

Tough it's hard to notice in the middle of the roaring traffic, an early spring has arrived to the big city too.

And since my mind keeps associating ideas, springtime reminded me of this: "Springtime for Hilter and Germany" from Mel Brooks' "The Producers", the 1968 version. In case you haven't seen the film and don't know what it's all about, it's a joke against Hitler, of course.

Zen master says:

Deep inside the ground,
though the flowers have withered,
the roots are growing.

mestro Zen dice:

Bajo la tierra,
aún marchitas las flores,
crece la raíz.

I was one of the fortunate winners of the "Best Blog Darts Thinker" awarded by Gonzalo ("From Buenos Aires!"... that's his blog). Thank you!

He sido uno de los afortunados ganadores del premio "Best Blog Darts Thinker" entregado por Gonzalo de "From Buenos Aires!". ¡Gracias!

In turn I must also award others (difficult as usual). I could choose up to 10, I'll just pick 5 but it could just as easily be 15. Here goes:

Carpe Diem, Carpe Diem, Carpe Diem...

Buying expensive shoes, dancing the night away, preparing virtual Manhattans, even unleashing destructive fury (Kali-maa wears Prada, the Goddess, though cruel, is fair!) upon those who DO deserve it, are just ways of mentally repeating "Carpe Diem, Carpe Diem, Carpe Diem..." like a mantra while this thing called life is dragging us who knows where, probably a place one doesn't want to go to. Since "escape" seems to be the key word, here's one male model that doesn't wax... Hallelujah!

¡Aleluya!

Zen master says:
Even under ice,
flowers. The biting winter
won't last forever.

maestro Zen dice:
Aún bajo el hielo,
flores. El duro invierno
no es eterno.

Future Zen master - Futuro maestro Zen

As you maybe realized, as soon as I publish a couple of posts about fashion I need to jump to something else. I have a joke with my friend Itzel Bunchen (I need to write a long post about her!) that in my old days I will be a Zen master, sitting under a japanese maple, it's fiery leaves falling around me, in front of a tea-house that of course would be very wabi-sabi
In the meantime here is one of my modest haikus:

The wind is shaking
the boughs of the cherry tree.
It's snowing petals.

I think that precisely the japanese have such a pure sense of style because of Zen philosophy. Since I'm talking about Japan, a few things japanese or japan-related:

And as I promised Haquiles, a link to Hokusai's "36 views of Mount Fuji", if you click on each image and click again you get to a large image with very good resolution.
